I can see clearly now, the rain is gone!

I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright, bright sun-shiny day!

Here we are in Olympic National Park in the beautiful state of Washington.  After two months, we’ve managed to make it this far north!  Boy, we have been hitting some spectacular weather in Washington.  Every day has been a bright, bright sun-shiny day which means every day has been a great day for sight-seeing.

Day 1 in Olympic National Park – We headed for the Visitor’s Center and then Hurricane Ridge.  From Hurricane Ridge you get a spectacular view of Olympic mountain range.  Hurricane Ridge is named for its intense gales and winds.  The weather is unpredictable and you should always be prepared for the possibility of snow.  However, on the day that we were there, that possibility was extremely remote if not nil!

Below is a photo I pulled from the Internet so you could really get a better idea of the view.

Now I could never have taken that kind of photo, but I did take a video panning the mountain range from the Visitor’s Center.

We also took this great ¾ mile stroll/hike across from the center.  The most amazing thing about this hike was the tameness of the deer.  Honestly, we strolled right up to them and they didn’t even lift their heads from chomping on the grass to acknowledge our presence.  They just kept on eating as if they were alone on the hillside!  Do these deer look like they're concerned about our presence?

Check out this baby deer hiding in the tall grass underneath a fallen log. So cute!

The next series of photos are just some photos from our great little hike including a view of Port Angeles and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
