Hot fun in the summertime!

Only, it's NOT summer!  But that's the song that came to mind as I looked over these photos from our special visit with our two darling red-headed granddaughters.  We took a trip up to Lake Tahoe one day and Romy (the older of the two) insisted on wearing her bathing suit even though it was a tad chilly (by my standards anyway).  Here are photos of Romy and Malin (the younger) playing on the beach at Camp Richardson.  First, Romy!

I'm trying not to bore you with too many grandkid pictures so I've limited my selection :).  It was a beautiful, actually stunning, day at Camp Richardson.  Erica said it so well.  Camp Richardson reminds you of your childhood and the camps you went to at that time.  There's such a down home feel to the place.  It has a magnificent RV park, small cabins by the lake, an ice cream parlor, restaurant, bike rentals and so much more.  There's an amazing bike path that goes through the area and quite a ways around the lake.  What a way to spend a week, two weeks, a month in the summer at Camp Richardson.  All your cares would be washed away as you lay on the sandy shore by stunning Lake Tahoe as the sun glistens on the surface twinkling like many diamonds.  As the title of this blog says, "hot fun in the summertime!"

Here are pictures of the girls with the grandparents and with the parents.  These were taken from the dock and look out towards the snow-capped mountains.  See, it isn't summer ... it's spring at the lake!

We ate lunch at the lake-side restaurant.  Enjoyed a wonderful time on the sandy shores of Lake Tahoe soaking in the sun and then had a scenic drive back down the hill to the wonderful, small town of Gardnerville, NV.  It just doesn't get better than this for grandparents!
