Go Hawks!

We spent four days in Puyallup (south of Seattle) with my sister, Nancy, and her husband, Dave.  We didn't actually stay at their house, but at an RV park located close by.  First, let me tell you, Puyallup is NOT (and I repeat NOT) the RV park capital of the world (nor of the greater Seattle area for that matter).  This was a totally urban RV park and we were wishing we weren't staying there but it was only four days and we can do anything for four days!  I am getting spoiled, though ... can you tell?

All was not lost, however, we had a wonderful visit with Nancy and Dave and Nancy and I went to a preseason Seattle Seahawks game on Saturday night (Dave and Gary stayed behind and watched the game on TV).  The Seahawks beat the Broncos 41 to 10!  It was a great game with an over 105 yard runback from a kick-off and an over 105 yard fumble recovery runback by the defense!  Oh, those were two exceedingly exciting plays to watch.

The Hawks fans are a bit crazy about their team.  The stadium was almost completely full -- very unusual for a preseason game -- at any rate for other teams, but not the Hawks!  The fans are also called "The 12th Man" and play a huge part in home games, making an amazing amount of noise every time the opposing team has the ball.  They are considered the twelfth worse fans in football--how appropriate since they are the 12th man!

Here's a photo of Century Link Field (from our seats) where the Seahawks call home.
One end of the stadium is totally open. From our seats (looking to the left) is this amazing view of downtown Seattle.  Right under the tall CocaCola sign is the end zone which is called "The Hawk's Nest".
Finally, we had the guy behinds us take a photo of my sister and me.  You probably can't see it, but we both have our Seahawks t-shirts on and 12th Man pendants around our necks!  Unfortunately, it was not early enough in the evening to get a good shot of us, but it's the best we could do with her phone camera.  Wish I had asked the guy earlier in the game :(
A HUGE thank you to my sister Nancy and her husband Dave for giving me the opportunity to go to the game.  It was so much fun and a great game as well!  Can it get better than that?
