Otavalo

We stayed overnight in Otavalo at Casa Mojanda.  I got this photo from the Internet because it gives you a great overview of the property and different casas.
This is the entrance to the path that leads to the registration building which is also where they had an upstairs "entertainment" center and downstairs restaurant.
Life is so different outside the United States!  What you would expect from this kind of hotel in the U.S. is so different from what you get in Ecuador!  We had a GREAT room.  It was like a suite with a living area and then bedroom area although the two were not separated by a door.  The shower looked promising and it was ... all except the fact that we couldn't get any hot water out of it!

This is the beautiful flora and fauna lined path that led to our room.
This is our bedroom.  There were actually two beds, so this is only half the room.

In the living room area, there was this nice entrance with beautiful Ecuadorian roses.
These views are of the Ecuadorian countryside and were taken from our living room windows.  Can you say "pastoral"?
It may not be "cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalm 50:10), but it is one lonely cow on a hill!

This video clip pans the view from our room.

Here's Gary standing outside the entrance to our hacienda (it was a separate building!).
Here are some photos of the grounds around the resort.
They had 4-5 llamas roaming around (actually, they weren't "roaming" they were all tied to different trees since llamas are not always so "nice").
They grew a lot of their own vegetables and herbs for the restaurant in their garden out back.
This angel was on one of the walls inside the registration/restaurant building.

These two views are looking out the restaurant windows.
Our table for dinner is set and waiting for us!
Gary and me at the dinner table.
 Here's Romy, posing for Grammy!
This is Malin sitting in one of the chairs in the downstairs hallway posing for Grammy.
And now for a family photo!  The cutest ever!

Psalms 34:11
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
